Your Role :
- Represent dangerous goods and chemical hazards management in South Korea.
- Establish a close and trustful relationship with ISCO, Distribution, and site management in South Korea.
- Analyze regulatory impacts on the Life Science (LS) Korea business
- Define strategies to transfer regulatory requirements into daily operations in sites and distribution centers
- Oversight and guidance at the divisional level for transportation/storage operation in accordance with international regulations (i.e. UN rTDG, ADR, IMDG code, IATA DGR) as well as Korea local regulations (e.g. DSSMA, ISHL, K-OSHA, K-REACH regulations)
- Oversee and report on the regulatory agency and carrier inquiries and audits
- Support strategic initiatives as applicable to the South Korean region
- Report to the global organization and fill our Hazcom mandate in South Korea (For Chemsafe).
- Support DG compliance needs from the import and export team, trade compliance, and work with internal and external customers to resolve issues or address inquiries associated with regulatory requirements pertaining to dangerous goods/hazardous chemicals.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary projects to ensure our high level of compliance is maintained.
- Represent the global organization in South Korea to work within necessary industry associations.
- Establish a network with industry/authorities/NGOs to advocate and lobby regulation development in South Korea to align with international regulations as much as possible and enlarge LS's impact in South Korea.
- Participate in a global dangerous goods team framework within the LS organization.
Who you are :
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Science/Engineering, or other related is required.
- 5+ years of experience with transportation regulations or chemical regulatory requirements.
- IATA DGR/IMDG code certification is required, and ADR/49CFR certification is strongly recommended.
- Previous regulatory/ regulatory compliance/product stewardship experience will be added advantage
- Intimate knowledge of and experience with South Korean and international regulations is strongly preferred.
- Project management experience or training preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of GHS and HAZCOM are highly recommended.
- Fluent English required.
- SAP experience required.
