Your role:
At MilliporeSigma, as a Project Specialist - Lab Digitization, you will be responsible for the scheduling and coordinating of routine and custom work performed in the laboratory, and will make scientific observations, maintain detailed workbooks/documentation, and ensure all documentation fulfills generally accepted professional/industry standards. You will maintain a thorough understanding of company manufacturing and testing services, technical principles, and applications as they apply to your position.
- Primarily liaise with continuous improvement and digitization project leads on process improvement efforts. Coordinate with lab management on resources needed for such projects
- Assist in the creation and management of lab schedule(s) for development and transfer of projects
- Liaise with project management, account managers, development services as well as operations scientific staff on the progress and deliverables of all testing
- Organize and lead meetings with appropriate cross functional teams
- Help to manage project timelines and communicate any timeline risk or misses to appropriate parties
- Perform work in accordance with SOPs and regulations (cGMP and GLP)
- Utilize applicable computer programs during work and routine tasks (i.e. Word, Excel, Oracle, LIMS, BRIQS, etc.)
- Communicate deviations/ events, progress, and interim results to Study Management
- Perform training of laboratory personnel as needed/ assigned
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve standard laboratory techniques, protocols, processes, and equipment
- Comply with company health and safety regulations and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.), -OR-
- Master's Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.), and 2+ years of laboratory experience -OR-
- Bachelor’s Degree in scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.), and 4+ years of laboratory experience
- 3+ years’ experience using Microsoft Excel (functions, equations, spreadsheet links, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Excel experience
- Strong organization, time management and technical skills
- Experience with spreadsheet data analysis tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, both formal and informal including presentations/seminars, oversight of projects, etc.
- Ability to work in cross functional teams as well as independently
- Demonstrates a high level of initiative and leadership capabilities
- Highly collaborative as well as independent
- Effective coaching and training skills
