Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma, the Senior EHS Engineer is responsible for driving best in class Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program management for our Jaffrey, New Hampshire facility that has over 1600 personnel working 24 hours/day 7 days/week. Your primary goal will be to reduce risk, prevent injuries and ensure regulatory compliance.  You will be assigned ownership of regulatory programs and be responsible for ensuring their accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance status. This role be involved with the hazardous materials team, emergency management and contractor support.   

  • Provide support to organization to facilitate integration and implementation of EHS practices into existing and planned operations.
  • Assist organization in the development and completion of risk assessments and EHS plans, and SOPs.
  • Perform independent and team audits to identify environmental, health or safety hazards that may impair the health of employees and participates in developing corrective actions.
  • Perform Industrial Hygiene equipment calibration, maintenance, data entry, and record keeping.
  • Manage near miss and injury reports and associated corrective action in electronic database.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses and/or exposure assessments to identify occupational health hazards, including but not limited to hazardous chemicals, physical and biological agents.
  • Provide recommendations for engineering and administrative controls, work practices, personal protective equipment, training, medical surveillance and written reports to organization and clients with recommendations to reduce or eliminate identified health hazards.
  • Facilitate and provide technical guidance to the site safety committees.
  • Provide safety training.
  • Participate on the chemical spill response team.
  • Coordinate and perform annual evacuation drills on a large corporate campus.
  • Manage EHS documentation in site quality documentation system.
  • Support all shifts.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental, or other life science field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in environmental health and safety or similar experience.  


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in US EPA, OSHA, DOT and NH DES regulations.
  • Experience with ISO 14001/45001 management systems.
  • Experience in cGMP manufacturing.
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • A strong grasp of regulatory requirements and the ability to convey the requirements into actionable steps to be executed by the various businesses.
