Senior Software Engineer (all genders) – Connected Lab


Your tasks:

You are a Senior Software Engineer, eager to work on solutions that help scientists in laboratories around the world transition to a more digital way of working.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a team of highly skilled developers and engineers creating cutting-edge digital products in the laboratory informatics space. The products you will be working on help scientists to manage their inventories and focus on the science. You will be responsible for improving existing systems and components and creating new systems, based on a scalable microservices architecture.

You'll be working as part of a highly engaged international team in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment using latest technologies with the opportunity to learn something new every day.


Your qualifications:

• University degree in Computer Science or comparable and at least 4 years of experience working as Software Engineer

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, JUnit, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, SQL, MySQL/MariaDB, REST, OpenAPI, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT and ideally Spring Cloud Gateway, Axon Framework, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch and WebSockets

• Very good knowledge of Microservice Architecture, Domain Driven Design (DDD), Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) and Event Sourcing

• Strong hands-on experience with Git, Maven and ideally with GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Docker, Kubernetes

• Good knowledge of branching strategies (Trunk-based development, Gitflow, …), semantic versioning and test-driven development (TDD)

• Ideally experience with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD such as GitLab CI/CD

• Ideally experience with frontend development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS), modern frontend frameworks such as React and tools such as Node.js, npm and webpack
• Fluent English is required, additional language skills are a plus
