Operational License Expert

The Operational License Expert is part of the central Software Asset Management (SAM) Unit within the global IT-I Organization.

SAM Processes and Applications are available and are in continuous optimization and improvement. Concepts, Guidelines and Procedures need to be adjusted to new requirements (e.g., Mobile Working, Cloud Technologies, Legal Requirements).

The following tasks are in the area of the Operational License Expert:

  • Control and Operation of the operational License Management Process
  • Responsibility to maintain Software Licenses in the SAM License Application with all relevant documents in collaboration with Product License Managers and Procurement
  • Furthermore, checking the data of the according technical inventory
  • Reporting about the License usage and generating license reports.
  • Consulting internal customers, mainly the individual product-managers, regarding license conforming usage of SW products
  • Last but not least, supporting the optimization of the Software Asset and License Management processes

Your Profile:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a comparable field
  • Proven 10+ year experience in working in Information Technology / License/SAM Management – License Management certifications are of advantage
  • In-depth experience with License Management tools – experience with USU License Manager would be a plus
  • You have strong knowledge in ITIL oriented processes and are familiar to apply it in IT License Management & Governance
  • Experience in operative Project Management is a must
  • You are able to drive the Life Cycle Management acitivites of IT assets
  • You have experience and knowledge with different license metrics as well as license usage rights of the major big vendors
  • You possess a solid understanding of complex processes and very good conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • You are committed, reliable, structured, solution-oriented, self-organized and pragmatic
  • Adherence to agreed timelines and excellent, proactive communication of any potential risk to the same is a must
  • You have a "can do" attitude and welcome new challenges. You like working on multiple tasks in parallel and are ready to take on responsibility from day one
  • You are an excellent team player who takes accountability and thinks cross functional
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written English
