EHS Associate Director

Your role: An exceptional opportunity has become available for a dynamic EHS Associate Director. You will counsel and support local management in all EHS matters within the Tres Cantos biotechnology/manufacturing site, in Madrid-Spain. You will keep track and advise management on Corporates' values, intentions and visions given by Corporate EHS (EQ-E) and the Global GHO EHS Team in conformity with local legislation, supporting local site management in the implementation of our EHS Group Policies and Standards and local legal requirements, to review regularly the status of implementation, applicability and compliance level. You will introduce and coordinate the implementation of our EHS programs and projects on site and propose, support and drive sustainable initiatives with the purpose of continuous EHS improvement, assessing EHS risks and planning and recommending appropriate operational controls to minimize the risk level. You will ensure that EHS training is provided to all employees as per their specific requirements in accordance with the specific hazards and risks associated with their work activities. You will detail, evaluate and investigate accidents, incidents, occupational illnesses, near-misses and hazardous conditions and plan appropriate corrective and preventive actions. You will prepare, participate and/or conduct internal audits and participate in EHS inspections (e.g. authorities, Iso 14001, ISO 45001), and establish corrective action plans for all identified findings. You will foster an ongoing development and improvement of plant technology and industrial procedures in terms of EHS, actively working towards a common EHS Group Culture.
Who you are:
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other Life Science related field.
- You have 5+ years of work experience in EHS, process safety and or industrial hygiene (LOTO & Energy Isolation, Work Permitting, Electrical, PPE, etc.)
- You have previous extensive experience in biotech/pharma or chemical manufacturing you have extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
- You have knowledge and experience in statistical methods and continual improvement processes
- You are a self-motivated individual able to work independently with minimal direction
- You have a notable ability to respond to deviations in the daily work schedule
- Experience with SAP, CREDIT 360, Microsoft suite
