Your Role:

      The IT business partner – Global Health Operations (GHO) is the main IT contact at China Healthcare pharmaceutical production site at Nantong.  The IT Business Partner (ITBP) has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface with assigned business units or functional area for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.  

     The ITBP provides highly valued strategic consulting level support and guidance through key IT initiatives. They communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests and projects and initiatives. They proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units. They partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.g., return on investment, productivity, compliance).

     They collect the needs from the sites each year to develop the project budget for the coming year.  ITBP help sites in building their business cases and in the process of prioritizing requests.  As responsible for the portfolio of requests, ITBP ensure the launch of projects as well as the mobilization of the resources necessary for its execution (business, IT, external resources, editors, integrators). ITBP ensure the progress of the project, budget monitoring and up to production.  They have a good knowledge their production site and propose actions to be integrated into the IT roadmap bringing together all the local and / or global initiatives / projects established for 4 years. ITBP bring this roadmap to life to integrate changes, achievements as well as project postponements.

     Your functional and technical expertise allows you, with the assistance of global teams, to advise and make application proposals to sites to help them achieve their objectives. You communicate any major IT changes, new applications available, innovations introduced by IT and implement actions to facilitate their adoption on the sites. You organize quarterly service reviews to collect the opinions of the sites on the services provided by the IT as well as on the progress of the portfolio. You coordinate all IT actions to improve the quality of service and increase user satisfaction. Utilize appropriate technologies and ensure that customers have the solutions they need, when they need them, and in the platform best suited to their requirements. Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.

Able to think strategically and execute methodically with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. You have excellent communication (verbal and written in English) and collaboration skills that will enable you to earn trust at all levels and across geographies. Ability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and collaboration sessions to push execution and alignment on organizational initiatives. 


Location Requirement: The base location for this role is flexible but will require at least 1/3 time at the Nantong produciton site and require occasional travel to Shanghai.

Your responsibility:


  • Manage system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
  • Assist Delivery Manager to manage project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements;
  • Manage software vendor(s).
  • Work with Application Implementation Manager and Line of Business partners to ensure that project requirements are identified and deliverables are met, including system program, user experience, to-be process and design documentation.
  • Facilitates testing environment and participates in testing applications.
  • Facilitates training environment and conduct trainings for users if necessary.
  • Assist in system change process to ensure integrity and stability of production systems.


The successful candidate will also need to:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent plus minimum 5 years of relevant professional work experience in Manufacturing site IT application system implementation.
  • Expert knowledge of processes and solutions in pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratories such as SAP, MES, and LIMS.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, create and implement procedures and processes which ensure compliance to GXP and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects in a demanding fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact in a team environment and collaborate with team members internal and external to the organization.
  • Ability to work in a project team oriented environment in a complex and diverse business unit of a multi-national company.
  • Proficient in spoken and written Chinese and English.
