Your Role:

As a Chemical Operator I, you will be part of a team producing innovative effect pigments for automotive coatings, cosmetics, plastics, printing, food, and pharmaceutical products. You will ensure optimum operation of equipment by maintaining full compliance with all instructions, company policies and procedures, as well as assuring a safe and environmentally compliant operation of the production processes. The hours for the position are Monday – Thursday (6:00AM – 4:30PM) with an occasional evening shift. Other responsibilities include:

  • Package and transfer chemicals safely
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, including adjusting controls, cleaning, and startup/shutdown
  • Performing general warehouse duties such as operating a forklift and packaging equipment
  • Process chemicals by following standard operating procedures on equipment
  • Participate in process performance analysis and improvements within areas of responsibility
  • Provide on-the-job training to other Operator I classifications as requested by Production Management


Physical Attributes:

  • Work at times in extreme climates (high/low temperatures and humidity)
  • Climb stairs, ladders and walk long distances during the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly


Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the use of typical computer hardware and software
  • A solid understanding and application of basic math skills
  • Statistical analysis skills
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Exposure to Lean & Six Sigma and ISO certification
