Your Role:

The Field Marketing team amplifies early development seeding for new product launches, product adoption and resulting sales growth, leads technical seminars and industry events including commercial lead qualification and sampling, optimizes messaging, delivers training, and assimilates voice of customer feedback on industry needs and trends. Our team adds differentiated value to enhance the sales process by instilling teamwork and collaboration globally.  

 

The Director & Head of Field Marketing for PFM Americas has in-depth formulation and commercial expertise to lead and develop a team of Field Marketers that drive technical engagements resulting in sustainable business growth. The person will contribute to and support future-focused, global strategic expansion programs. Leadership of their direct team and collaboration with every touch point in the organization is paramount to success in this role. The position is responsible for translation of marketing strategy into tactical plans for execution in the field.  Management responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and managing within an expense budget as designated.  The Associate Director of Field Marketing actively coaches & develops direct reports to enable long-term sustainable sales growth through thought leadership and early lead qualification and development.  The scope of responsibility is defined by market segments, product lines, channel to market, geographic area and/or named accounts. 

 

Responsible for leading the PFM Americas Field Marketing team with biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical accounts. Plan, hire, onboard and retain a team able to drive current goals and opportunities and support future growth and strategic direction. Closely collaborate with Regional Sales leadership, Marketing Franchise, Sales Specialists, Marketing Operations, Commercial Services, and other commercial teams to understand potential paths to grow the business. Responsible for target setting such that company goals are met while delivering on critical initiatives. Cascades organizational vision and strategies ensuring clear understanding within the team. Reviews and modifies business plans to ensure alignment with the strategic direction and achievement targets. Responsible for communicating relevant business information to the sales team. Manages budget and allocates funds where appropriate. Establishes strategic relationships within the life science industry in the Pharma and BioPharma Market. Embraces digital tools and solutions and ensures team adoption to maximize productivity, effectiveness and transparency.

 

Expertise:

Upstream and downstream biopharm materials as well as formulation expertise in solid oral, liquid, and biomolecule formulation. In-depth understanding of the drug development process and challenges involving manufacturing, excipient functionality, qualification, solubility, stability, process robustness, process validation, and risk assessment. Ability to translate technical challenges into business opportunities. Active in relevant industry forums, associations, and Thought Leadership activities.

 

Who You Are: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of industrial experience in pharma, biopharma industry or relevant field
  • Track record of people leadership, management and/or project management experience.
  • 5+ years of sales/commercial experience in the pharma and biopharma marketplace.
  • Intrinsically driven professional with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate with diverse audiences, both written and orally.
  • General financial and business acumen.
  • This position requires the employee to travel 25-50% domestic and international for internal meetings, customer visits and industry events including overnight and some weekend travel.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of people leadership and management experience, with commercial or marketing leadership being strongly preferred.
  • Business knowledge of Life Science industry and trends, including products, strategy, processes, ways of operating, market influences and cultural awareness
  • Global knowledge of Process Solutions capabilities and understanding of various divisions, departments with strong evidence of collaborating in a matrix environment and department functions/roles
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory topics, IPEC, GMPs and industry standards and/or other relevant quality systems
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously with a degree of independence.
  • Excellent experience, ability and active use with various sales tools and technology, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office software, Sales Force or other CRM, marketing software, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other social platforms
  • Results oriented and able to work with partners to prioritize and manage conflicting expectations
  • Strong networking skills externally and internally
