Our company is a leader in providing products and services to the biopharmaceutical industry. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and talented individual to play a sales development role in a dynamic team, focusing on Middle East and Africa area.

Your principal objective are: Within EMEA Customer Applications team, the Single Use / Multi Use Sales Development team drive adoption and implementation of products, systems and services from our Single Use and Hardware systems portfolio.The Engineered Systems Sales Development Specialist drives sales growth through new business opportunities and sales programs that include Multi Use and Single Use Hardware opportunities during the entire selling process on his/her territory. You provide technical expertise and business acumen for complex project up to achievement of the project and drive profitable growth utilizing strategic pricing tools and programs. You drive long term success by opportunity prioritization, disciplined resource management, and overall multi-year project profitability gains that contribute to overall Process Solutions goal attainment.

This position requires a high degree of interaction with the customer and in conjunction with sales and key stakeholder partners within Operations, Planning, Field Service, MSAT, Legal and Global Marketing.

This position will continue the transition to build a self-sufficient, sustainable and impactful sales development specialist team within EMEA.

The Primary responsibilities are to contribute to the EMEA Systems budget with the objective of meeting or exceeding the yearly budget, through direct responsibility for Middle East and Africa region, to actively seek and evaluate new project opportunities. Qualify leads, raise awareness of our capabilities, helping customers understanding our product/service and promoting our global organization capabilities, beyond the direct scope of accountability (think broad). You act as team leader for large and complex projects (Large Investment Projects, Early engagement with Facility Conceptual Design or Late Phase Engineering Services) – beyond boundaries of his/her own franchise/products responsibility. You develop, monitor, maintain A&E’s and customer information through preferred relationship (organizational structure, key players & decision makers, future investment), you act as a team leader for custom design equipment and capital projects. Is the contact person for decision makers, evaluating budget and monitoring the status of the decision making process. You manage custom designed systems and/or equipment project(s) during pre-sale phase, you qualify leads from the field and elaborates concepts and specifications in collaboration with Operations and Field service. You also have to position and present our sales strategy, evaluate systems design in cooperation with engineering and quotation team, establish and present commercial and technical quotation to customers. As a Technical Application Specialist Systems, you develop sales and pricing recommendation with his manager and sales partners and negotiates with customers, you are the communication/interface point between customer and engineering during all phases of the project to its achievement; you control together with Operations quotation team project scope /variations, cost/margin and timing, you manage Terms and Condition’s approval process by involving legal department and his/her manager, you use and update CRM tool (SFDC) from quote request to customer order and establish close relationship with key customers, engineering companies (A&E), including at high level. You also have to develop network of internal stakeholders by effectively communicating business information to the organization.

In addition, you provide feedback of trends, competitions and new product to the Systems field marketing and his/her manager and assess that our system design meet customer and process need, you act as a process and project consultant at customer for URS and functional specifications and participate in development of strategies and actions plans with local sales organization.


In terms of Hierarchical position within the organization: you directly report to EMEA Systems Sales Development Director

The position is home-based in Europe


Who you are: 


  • 4 or 5 years Degree (after high school Diploma) or Ph. D. in chemical & process Engineering or Biotechnology
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in engineering knowledge and/or selling to the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Industry and single-use manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of Biotech upstream/downstream processing, current/emerging purification and separation technologies.
  • Good knowledge of automation and computer science
  • Good knowledge of cGMP’s, regulatory requirements and validation
  • Good application and process engineering background and ability to argue
  • Good presentation, excellent communication skills, verbal and written (clearly and succinctly) and negotiation skills (dynamic approach to challenges)
  • Flexibility to adapt to different cultural environments and customers, notably in Mediterranean countries
  • Must be effective in working across boundaries and functions with the ability to work effectively internationally
  • Ownership, demonstrated ability to work on his own initiative under limited supervision
  • Familiar with IT tools (CRM, Office packs)
  • Fluent in English. Other languages a plus
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • This position could require domestic and international travel for up to 30% of the time.
