Senior Specialist Dangerous Goods

As a Sr Specialist, Dangerous Goods you will be responsible for the management of dangerous goods (DG) transportation, which ensures the compliant and safe transport of our products. This is a global position and covers all modes of transportation. It encompasses materials, including both finished goods and developmental products, and articles. In this role you will be the corporate interface with external organizations that include but is not limited to government agencies and trade associations. You will also be the primary internal contact for day-to-day DG transportation and will partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Asset Management, Purchasing and Technology. Additionally, you will lead the Versum Materials Transportation Community of Practice. Responsibilities include:
- Regulatory classifications
- Marking, Labeling, Placarding
- Package selection, design, testing (specification and non-specification containers, including pressure receptacles)
- Transportation documentation (shipping papers/BOL, red border reports, DG Note)
- Training content and delivery
- Exceptions (Special Permits, Competent Authorities, Derogations)
- Site audits
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in dangerous goods management, which includes a working knowledge of US DOT, IMDG, IATA, EU ADR and CA TDG regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- Experience with practical application of regulations and working directly with regulatory agencies.
- SAP experience
- Prior experience transporting compressed gases
- Globally Harmonized System (GHS) experience
- DGSA certification
