Your Role:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical discipline expertise in mechanical engineering on a variety of asset builds and infrastructure modifications ranging in scope from specialty chemical production equipment installation to building construction. This position can be 50% from Allentown, PA and 50% from Tamaqua, PA. Other job responsibilities include:


  • Participate in all project-relevant design reviews, design hazard reviews, operating plant hazard reviews
  • Support commissioning/startup activities including pre-startup safety reviews and closure of punch list items
  • Generate or review externally generated deliverables such as piping/tubing design, machinery specifications, equipment specifications, relief and manual valve specifications, skid fabrication packages, material compatibility
  • Review detailed equipment arrangement such as control panel locations, major pipe routings, wastewater, and fire protection systems
  • Provide expert level mechanical engineering support
  • Work within a matrix environment and communicate with remote team members, project managers, and customers
  • Drive consistency in evaluation and implementation of best engineering practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement
  • There may be up to 10% travel


Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related industry
  • 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer

 Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering (MS or PhD)
  • Experience with pressure vessels, materials, piping, valving, relief device sizing, insulation, corrosion control, welded assemblies ensuring ASME BPV Code Compliance for vessels and piping
  • Proven ability to translate technical requirements from asset and product development plans into tactical concepts and designs
  • Professional experience with manufacturing processes, as well as knowledge of materials of construction for electronics specialty chemicals production
  • Experience in industrial process plant construction and construction safety practices, chemical piping, and equipment installation practices
