Your Role:

MilliporeSigma has an opening for a Maintenance Planner within our Maintenance and Engineering group.  The group focuses on facility infrastructure support of the Manufacturing facilities at the Broadway site.  Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the efficient scheduling and planning of Engineering, Maintenance, and Calibration activities to maximize operational uptime.  You will focus on planning and scheduling maintenance activities for the maintenance group.  In this role, you will work directly with engineering personnel, production personnel, and maintenance technicians to identify the most efficient route of maintenance activity inclusion in the production space.


  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to develop integrated operation and maintenance schedules
  • Schedule preventive maintenance/calibration activities, labor, and resources in CMMS to maximize equipment uptime and minimize impact to manufacturing operations
  • Purchase materials required for maintenance activities
  • Anticipate and eliminate potential delays to completing maintenance activities, including availability of resources, materials, and access to equipment/facilities to be serviced
  • Plan and kit required instructional documents, materials, and specialty tools for schedule maintenance activities.  Purchase material as needed
  • Update the communication Tier and maintenance boards to capture equipment availability, associated metrics, and important communications to engineering and maintenance personnel
  • Formulate action plans to correct systemic issues impacting Maintenance Plan execution
  • Coordinate Planning activities with maintenance, engineers, and operations personnel
  • Assist in management and implementation of CAPAs related to maintenance processes
  • Track and update key maintenance performance metrics
  • Conduct work order backlog meetings
  • Generate key metrics reports as required
  • Update PM tasks and Schedules in CMMS to effectively balance the workload
  • Provide direction to the maintenance team as needed
  • SOP updating and development


Who You Are:


Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree with 2 years of Maintenance Experience within pharmaceutical, chemical or related production experience or GMP-regulated industry  


  • High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of Maintenance Experience within pharmaceutical, chemical or related production experience or GMP-regulated industry  


Preferred Qualification:

  • Background on equipment preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability and failure modes, efficiency metrics  
  • Strong background of Maintenance Planning and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) 
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Microsoft Suite of Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point)
