Manufacturing Operational Support (MOS) in Compliance & Release

Our site at Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland, is Merck’s prime hub for the manufacturing of biotech medicines for patients from all over the world and plays an instrumental role in the growth of our Healthcare business sector and the launch of new medicines. Established in 1999, the Corsier-sur-Vevey site is Merck’s global center of expertise for the large-scale production of drug substances for Merck’s biotech medicines making it one of the largest and most technologically advanced biotech manufacturing plants in the world with 4 production suites and 150’000 liters bioreactor capacity.
What we offer:
Within the MOS (Manufacturing Operational Support) Compliance & Release team located at Corsier-sur-Vevey in Switzerland, you will support the application of our systems required to guarantee that our manufacturing process used to produce our pharmaceutical medicines are performed within consistent quality and are in compliance with the health authorities regulation in place.
You will learn and deploy our deviation system, used to investigate any event observed in our manufacturing facilities, meaning any action for which the standard manufacturing process was not followed. For these events, you will apply the methodology used to assess the impact it can have on the quality of our produced medicines, as well as on the identification of the root cause of the event for which preventive and corrective actions have to be defined to avoid any recurrence of the event. You will participate to the coordination of the release activities required to confirm that our medicines produced can be further processed and injected to our patients.
From a general point of view, you will be part of a strong and dynamic team of 5 experts that will provide you coaching and support during your internship. You will also drive continuous improvements of our systems to increase their efficiency and quality. Your main goals will be to write investigation reports, procedures and different assessments, as well as to coordinate our main activities with other teams and departments. You will be able to observe part of our manufacturing process in our manufacturing facilities, for both upstream and downstream. The scope of this internship is a real learning process that will boost your knowledge on pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
Your profile:
• Student (Master or Eng) in Biotechnology, Life science or Chemical engineering.
• Motivation to learn about manufacturing pharmaceutical process, both upstream and downstream
• High level of motivation, good analytical view and investigation skills
• Good communication skills, oral and written (English and French)
