Your Role:
The role of Head of Medical Affairs, Neurology & Immunology (N&I) will be to provide medical expert advice to ensure accuracy of data to support existing or new product promotion. You will develop medical product information and stays informed on scientific trends and competition. You will also maintain relationships with target opinion leaders and trains local teams in medical topics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anticipate, collect, interpret and communicate healthcare trends, patient insights, and unmet needs identified in the field to Head of Medical N&I Region
- Co-leading Local N&I plans & tactics, including pre-launch plans and strategy for a 1st in class new chemical entity and post-license Brand Strategies
- Manage a team of Medical Advisor(s) and Scientific Advisors
- Responsible for assigning, tracking, and monitoring relevant KPIs and metrics for the medical N&I team Operations:
- Review medical and marketing materials and ensure scientific and clinical accuracy.
- Support the development of medical and marketing materials and trainings.
- Lead and conducts local internal training and continuous medical education for team members and new employees working in the Local N&I team.
- Ensure timely completion and up-to-date knowledge of Company policies / SOPs, and local laws and regulations .
- Maintain up to date GxP knowledge by following internal and external trainings.
- Enforce Local medical standards in N&I team.
- Support efficient resource allocation in N&I .
- Collect and share best practices in Local and regional N&I team.
- Review and communicates insights collected by local medical colleagues.
- Maintain and demonstrates comprehensive and in-depth scientific TA knowledge when executing assigned tactics.
- Map treatment landscape and medical environment for new indications/ programs in the N&I areas.
- Responsible for the planning and tracking of the N&I medical budget Data generation and Scientific Communication:
- Provides Local input into GMAT/RMA N&I team to support product development.
- Lead/ support (depending on nature of study) Medical studies, assist to coordinate Local clinical projects and contribute to site selection for clinical projects.
- Acts as a resource and liaison for ISS and investigators that are aligned to the Medical Affairs strategy.
- Carefully reviews unsolicited ISS proposals from local investigators to ensure strategic fit and appropriate scientific intent.
- Coordinate with In-Country Clinical Support team, in providing field support for research Studies and assist in the selection of clinical study sites.
- Lead publication of local sponsored medical studies.
Who you are:
- Minimum educational background: Medical doctor or pharmacist (pharmacist must be registered or qualify to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
- Secondary / advanced scientific degree (e.g., MSc, PharmD, PhD, DO, MD); Business qualification would also be advantageous.
- Scientific and / or clinical training in area of relevance to position strongly preferred.
- Other advanced degree (non-scientific) and/or business degree/training is advantageous; ABPI and IPHA code training and experience as a medical signatory is necessary.
- Pharmaceutical industry desired.
- Experience in Medical Department or/and other functions as well as on Global/ Regional level.
- Strong network with key stakeholders in N&I is advantageous.
- Leadership experience with small to medium-sized teams and small budget.
- Substantial professional, clinical or research experience in a scientific or related field required.
- Knowledge and experience of methodology of clinical research and Good Clinical Practice desired.
