Your Role: 

Manufacture, package, and evaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others, lead safety initiatives & projects, and perform operations in support of the group and department. This is a 3rd shift position with regular scheduled work hours of 10:00pm-6:30am Sunday – Friday but may occasionally differ depending on business needs.


  • Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations. 

  • Ensure safety and quality throughout the process. 

  • Assure you are adequately trained to perform tasks/assignments. 

  • Perform routine tasks, processes and/or unit operations. 

  • Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines. 

  • Contribute to support functions of the department (e.g. maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, perform waste disposal, design & build chemical packaging apparatus, create & maintain work instructions, troubleshoot process/equipment issues, etc.). 

  • Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisor. 

  • Provide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines (GDP). 

  • Ensure all applicable documentation has been filled out completely (as required by current procedures). 

  • Interact & liaise with other departments as needed, including QC, Manufacturing, Shipping, etc. 

  • Participate as needed in quality & safety audits. 

  • Accurately perform procedures independently.   

  • Comply with change control procedures.  

  • Identify & Improve processes through application of scientific knowledge, experience, and guiding principles. 

  • Participate in process improvements under the guidance of a Supervisor, Scientist, or your own. 

  • Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions. 

  • Train personnel and act as a technical consultant as needed.  

  • Perform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediates. 

  • Supply, Interpret, & Improve information based on experience and knowledge. 

  • Perform public speaking as needed, including monthly safety meetings. 

  • Participation in Medical Emergency Response Team and/or Emergency Spill Response Team. 

  • 6+ months of training necessary to learn specifics of job adequately to work independently. 


Physical Attributes:

  • Chemical environment - perform tasks while wearing personal protective equipment such as respirator or chemical-protective clothing for extended periods. 

  • Occasional lifting and pushing of up to 50 pounds. 

  • Occasional work beyond normal working hours.

  • Properly wear & use PPE articles, including protective suits and respirators. 


Who You Are:  

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science field

  • 1+ year of experience in chemistry, experimental design, or lab/manufacturing safety


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in chemistry, experimental design, or lab/manufacturing safety


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Independent lab research
  • Familiar with laboratory instruments and production equipment. 

  • Knowledge of process techniques and unit operations. 

  • Familiar with analytical techniques and equipment. 

  • Perform safe chemical-handling techniques. 

  • Communication skills, both oral and written. 

  • Ability to use various computer programs, including: MS Office, inventory control software (i.e. SAP), and quality management software. 

  • Basic-to-intermediate mechanical skills (i.e. use of basic hand tools). 

  • Troubleshooting skills. 

  • Interpersonal skills. 

  • Organizational skills. 

  • Laboratory, chemical manufacturing, and/or analytical skills. 

  • Knowledge of ISO Quality standards.
