Your Role:

 

We are seeking a Senior Technical Application Specialist with in-depth formulation and commercial expertise to lead technical engagements resulting in sustainable business growth! The PFM (Process and Formulation Materials) Field Marketing team amplifies early development seeding for product adoption and resulting sales growth, leads technical seminars and industry events including commercial lead qualification and sampling, optimizes messaging, delivers training, and assimilates voice of customer feedback on industry needs and trends. Our team adds differentiated value to enhance the sales process by instilling teamwork and collaboration globally.

 

Location: Field Based position that is remote with up to 40% Travel

 

Duties:

Formulation expert in solid oral, liquid, and biomolecule formulation. In-depth understanding of the drug development process and challenges involving excipient functionality, qualification, solubility, stability, process robustness, process validation, and risk assessment. Ability to translate technical challenges into business opportunities. Active in relevant industry forums, associations, and Thought Leadership activities.

 

Road Map of a “typical day”:

Engages with formulation scientists to explain product benefits and understands technical requirements for winning new business, making course corrections as we learn. Leads the planning, execution and follow-through of industry events and technical seminars. Carries out Go-to-Market plans and sales training for launch readiness. Assimilates Voice of Customer inputs with Product Managers to provide guidance for new products development and refines messaging of value propositions. Partners with Sales team members for development and execution of PoAs (Plan of Action) and inspires the use of sales tools. As a key contributor in the go to market sales process, the Senior Technical Application Specialist is collecting and qualifying leads, including sampling customers to develop the business into commercial opportunities.

The position is responsible for translation of marketing strategy into tactical plans for execution in the field and commercial qualification of early leads for conversion to sales opportunities.

Drives product adoption program with Sales to meet seeding targets is essential

Develops and maintains influential formulation and regulatory contacts

Serves as a partner to Sales to co-develop and complete Plans of Action

Presents at technical seminars and Thought Leadership events to create awareness, curiosity, and sustainable access to formulation teams

Provides key contributions and execution of Go-to-Market, Voice of Customer, and Key Market Initiative (KMI) programs

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organic or Biological Science, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharm D or relevant
  • 10+ years of proven experience in marketing or sales, meeting or exceeding new product seeding or connected growth targets

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Intrinsically driven professional with the ability to work independently
  • Understands customer needs, industry trends, and market influences
  • Willing to travel up to 30% domestic 10% international
  • 3+ years of combined experience in development or manufacturing in large and small molecules with particular focus on solid oral, liquid dosage and/or biomolecule formulation
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate with diverse audiences clearly, concisely and effectively, both written and orally
  • Ability to manage through influence in a globally networked organization and be comfortable with changes of priorities
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory topics, IPEC, GMPs and industry standards
  • Strong consensus-builder, capable of achieving desired outcome in critical conversations, and managing conflict resolution
  • Extensive industry contacts in formulation and regulatory positions at large pharma for continuous dialogue with decision makers/influencers
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-profile external and internal projects
