As an Application Specialist for our mRNA Value Chain offering, within the Life Science – Life Science Services (LSS) business field, you will support the execution of our CDMO strategy in the field of mRNA, Lipid Nanoparticles, Lipids, and supporting excipients, through the translation of our marketing strategy to tactical plans and execution in the field.
You will understand customer needs, industry trends, and market influences and provide “voice of the customer” feedback to our internal organization for fine-tuning our strategy, with a contribution to new product development and value propositions.
You will provide customers with in-depth information on our portfolio products, within your focus area and across Merck’s broader product offering and services, including mRNA, Lipid NanoParticles, formulation services, and critical formulation components, such as Lipids. You will have internal touchpoints across Marketing, R&D, Operations, Project Management, and Marketing Communication,
Furthermore, you will also be active in relevant regional and global industry forums and associations. Drive regional thought leadership activities for lead generation and further develop and maintain influential contacts in the field of mRNA-based therapeutics via in-person and virtual platforms.
You will support, establish, and maintain tools to support the Sales Development team, including lead generation, pipeline management, and financial reporting.
Who you are:
- BS degree in Biotechnology or Molecular Biology - MSc and/or Ph.D. is preferred
- 3 years minimum of directly related work experience
- Minimum of 1-year customer-facing experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Expert in Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to connect with diverse audiences clearly and successfully, both written and orally
- Intrinsically driven professional with the ability to work independently
- Ability to handle through influence in a globally networked organization
- Shown success in performing customer-facing seminars, programs, and/or events
- Language: Proficient in English is required, and proficiency in another European language is considered an advantage
- Willing to travel up to 50% of your time
The position is based in Western Europe.
