Your role:

You plan, refine, and execute the marketing for our Viral Vector CDMO services in the Biologics and Viral Vector (BioVV) franchise. BioVV is a key part of our Life Science Services CDMO business, with viral vector manufacturing headquartered in Carlsbad, California and additional modalities manufactured across the globe. Within the franchise, the Viral Vector portfolio comprises a sophisticated contract development and manufacturing services offering and includes technology platforms for manufacturing adeno-associated virus, lentivirus, adenovirus, and other viral vectors, supporting innovative cell and gene therapy developers across the globe.

 

Our vision is to help biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies take their assets from early clinical stage to the market as quickly as possible.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Create and execute against the viral vector services market positioning, value proposition, pricing strategies, etc. in key markets (cell and gene therapy).
  • Identify necessary global market analysis requirements and define voice of customer interview areas for continued demand monitoring.
  • Work with the Innovation, Process Development, and Technical teams to align template and service development efforts to market needs.
  • Collaborate with MarCom and Field Marketing to translate the business strategy into a complete go-to-market strategy including campaigns, tactics, and content that help achieve annual business and revenue targets.
  • Work with MarCom and Field Marketing to create compelling marketing collateral, thought leadership/technical content, web and presentation content, and messaging that drives increased awareness and generates leads for the business.
  • Support Sales teams by advising on customer selection based on their fit to defined service offerings.
  • Coordinate viral vector marketing efforts and best practices across the BioVV organization.
  • Collaborate with Marketing stakeholders in the Process Solutions organization to ensure MilliporeSigma products are effectively implemented in the viral vector CDMO offering.
  • Provide manufacturing technology thought leadership in the wider business context.
  • In collaboration with BioVV Strategy and Field Marketing, monitor and maintain a strong understanding of our global key markets through voice of customer interviews, competition positioning & capabilities, industry trends and dynamics.

 

This permanent position is ideally based in the United States (preferably Carlsbad, CA or Burlington, MA) and reports to the Head of Marketing, Biologics and Viral Vector CDMO.

 

Who you are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, or engineering

  • Minimum 3 years combined experience in global marketing, sales, and/or product management in the life science industry

  • Working understanding of the pre-clinical to commercial development process for pharmaceuticals
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment and effectively collaborate across functions and geographies
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of time as required
  • Fluency in English

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience directly related to the development or manufacture of viral vectors for cell and gene therapy applications
  • Higher degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or Business (Masters / Ph.D.)
  • Experience developing successful marketing campaigns including complete go-to-market strategies, value propositions, tactical marketing plans, and content
  • Experience assessing customer needs, market needs, capability gaps, and competitor capabilities
  • Experience working for a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO)
