POSITION: HR BUSINESS PARTNER, MARKET HR JAPAN
LOCATION: TOKYO, JAPAN

OVERVIEW

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) position will partner with some of the business sectors in our company, provide them with a strategic people consulting, and jointly shape people strategy while driving strategy implementation. 

Based on a trustful relationship with the client groups, the HRBP will influence analysis and decision-making in the areas of leadership, culture transformation, talent management & development, succession planning, work force planning, organization development & design, performance management, employee engagement and so on, and develop and deliver effective solutions to support the client groups by collaborate effectively with various HR colleagues such as local HRBPs, Sector HRBPs, local Market Solution Partners and MBS.

In addition, the HRBP is expected not only to be making a direct contribution to businesses in a specific business sector but also to be contributing to the entire Japan group business as part of Japan HR team members by proactively involving and/or leading the country-wide HR projects and initiatives.

 

MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o    Act as an HR partner, change agent and implementation advisor in order to support the leaders and managers in translating the business strategy into an executable People agenda as well as translating the vision into sustainable new behaviors.
o    Guide and influence leaders to align manager and employee capabilities to the mid-to-long-term business needs and to drive cultural change and employee engagement.
o    Provide a necessary guidance to managers and demonstrate leadership by yourself on organizational design and organization development matters (e.g. reorganizations, building organization capability, workforce planning, etc.)
o    Coach and advise the managers on the effectiveness of their leadership teams, talent topics and other general HR issues.
o    Help managers to facilitate the regular HR processes (e.g. performance and reward cycle, talent review, promotion, etc.) and advise them.
o    Engage into and/or lead the country-wide HR projects and initiatives.
The person in this role should have a strong business acumen with proven ability to align business needs with HR solutions to move the business forward in a dynamic environment and must be able to be aware of and demonstrate all or some of the company’s 6 behaviors including “Obsessed with  Customers and Patients”, ”Act as the Owner”, “Be Curious and Innovate Boldly”, “Simplify and Act with Urgency”, “Raise  the Bar”, and “Disagree openly, Decide, and Deliver (3Ds)”.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
o    Bachelor's degree AND a minimum of 5 years in progressive Human Resources experience in a global company or Master's degree AND 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a global company.
o    Excellent communication skills with a strategic and logical thinking
o    Native level of Japanese and business level of English proficiency (written and spoken)
o    Have a good command of Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
o    The HRBP must be able to relate well to all levels of the organization, demonstrate interpersonal awareness to effectively build and sustain strong client partnerships with trust and credibility and will have an excellent skill set of influencing and coaching, teamwork, organizational design and restructuring, and leadership. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of drive and urgency, balancing multiple priorities simultaneously.  Excellent skills in reasoning, problem-solving, conflict resolution, project management and organization and communication are required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o    Some years of HRBP experience in a global company
o    Experience working in any manufacturing industries (e.g. pharma, life science, electronics and etc.,,,)
o    MBA, Master’s degree in HR or related field
o    Experience working in a global mid-size to large company in a highly matrixed environment
o    Experience in using HR systems/modules (e.g. Success-factors, Workday)
