Job Scope:

The candidate will be responsible for development of operational marketing plans and design, implementation, and execution of field marketing activities for Milli-Q Lab Water Solutions including market analysis, product pricing, product positioning and campaigns. S/he will work closely with related business functions within and outside of the team like global product management team, local sales/service team, marcom/digital team, customer excellence team, etc. to promote lead generation and maximize product lifecycle efficiency and customer engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop knowledge of market, competitors, customer needs and products that drive the strategy and product positioning that will ensure strong and sustainable growth for Milli-Q Lab Water Solutions business.
  • Understands Milli-Q Lab Water Solutions products as well as competitors’ products to be able to best position Milli-Q Lab Water Solutions in Japan.
  • Work closely with global product management team and local sales/service team to contribute to define local product positioning and pricing for Milli-Q Lab Water Solutions.
  • Regularly report/feedback on competitors to the global product management team with regards to new and existing products, positioning, and pricing.
  • Understand and collect customer needs (Voice of customers) by meeting customers and/or getting feedback from sales/service team regularly.
  1. Plan, design, implement and monitor marketing operational plan.
  • Plan and design marketing operational plan to maximize product lifecycle impact for both existing and new products with clear goal setting.
  • Ensure the implementation of all plans to be fully executed in collaboration within and outside marketing team – alignment with global marketing team, local sales/service team, customer excellence team and other BU as appropriate.
  • Monitor the outcome of plans, fix issues if any and improve the plan to meet the desired outcome.
  • Develop and manage new product launch plans including content localization, sales enablement and launch campaigns and monitor its success and outcome.

  • Help other peers within and outside the team to strengthen the overall team outcome.



    1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Scientific background preferred.
    2. +5 years experience in B2B environment. Life Science or Biotech environment is preferred. Some hands-on laboratory experience is plus.
    3. Related product management or filed marketing experience supporting similar products or range of products including commercial sales/marketing/business development.
    4. Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally. Native level of Japanese and Business level or above English required. (TOEIC 730 or above)
    5. Strong analytical skills required. Previous experience in revenue forecasting, market analysis, and marketing/customer analysis preferred.
    6. Good organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible to changing priorities and needs. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy combined with proven ability to multi-task.
    7. Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally. Travel may be approximately 15-25%. (Post COVID, so it may subject to change)
    8. Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer software in a business environment, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
