Your Role:  

At MilliporeSigma, the Senior Production Scientist position in St. Louis, MO, supports our large-scale manufacturing of Nucleotide, Carbohydrate, Enzyme and Protein product lines. As a Senior Production Scientist, you will ensure successful manufacturing of products according to established protocols, provide technical support and train others on instruments and techniques, and perform operations in support of the production group and department. In this role, you will be interacting cross-functionally with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Packaging, Materials Management, Engineering, and Maintenance.    

 

  • Design complex experiments, evaluate data, and draw conclusions
  • Lead quality audits and prepare responses as needed
  • Identify potential safety and quality risk within our manufacturing operations and drive improvements to completion
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting using technical knowledge and theory 
  • Design complex experiments, evaluate data, and draw conclusions

 

Who You Are:   

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Life Science field 
  • 2+years of experience working in a laboratory in the Life Sciences field

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • PhD or Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge in Chemistry (Organic and Analytical) and Biochemistry
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer, and TLC)
  • Experience with isolation and purification methods (e.g. Crystallization, lyophilization, chromatography, reverse osmosis, extraction)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office based programs for Manufacturing/Operating procedure writing, technical report generation, product tracking and trending data analysis
  • Demonstration of conflict resolution, strong multi-tasking ability and self-starter
