Your Role: 

 EMD Electronics is immediately hiring for SME Technicians for its MEGASYS® team in Austin, TX.  This is a challenging, hands-on, rewarding job opportunity for people who want to join a growing business and be part of the training of the entire team.  

Technicians work on systems and maintain supply of chemicals and gases to a semiconductor manufacturing environment that makes the chips used in electronic devices such as Smart Phones, LED's, and Flat Screen TV's. They will ensure compliance in operation and maintenance procedures, emergency preparedness, and drive flawless execution. 

 Technicians will be responsible for the safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems, with duties including: 

  • Support the definition of processes and policies, supply business rules and procedures, 
  • and communicate the contexts in which the rules, processes and polices are applied correctly consistently 
  • Support the SME and operation units’ needs to the training and certification of support technicians in operations 
  • Validate the requirements and deliverables that describe the processes and procedures that are required to complete the task required by area  
  • Support the development of processes, procedures and complete the required documentation to support training in the operations area  
  • Provide support to the supervisors, SMEs and leadership in the process for training, certification and fit for duty for operations support technicians 
  • Support the RCA, Problem Solving Techniques, Safety and Quality incidents to get to root cause and create solutions to the issues at a power level above 7 
  • Lead the support in all shifts and days for training of support personnel; also provide technical assistance to support issues during normal operation 
  • Collaborate with all team members to engage in a positive feedback and constructive feedback for technician training 
  • Resolve issues relevant within their area of expertise. 
  • Support EMOCs to ensure the documents are updated and formatted in the ISO system 
  • Be committed to the project and participate in the development of the team which may include Maintenance of the specific area 
  • Be proactive, positive, initiative, team player and self-motivated  

Physical Attributes: 

  • Walking throughout the facility for 75% of shift (5-6 miles per day) 
  • Climbing of ladders up to 12-foot-tall (utilizing fall protection) 
  • Basic lifting (up to 40lbs) 
  • Bending of the knees and overhead reaching 

 Technicians will work a variety of shifts both compressed (12 hr shifts) of 3 days on, 3 days off / 4 days on, 4 days off, and a 5 Day / 8-hour shift to meet the needs of training essentially meaning our Technicians have a lot of time off already built into their schedules! 

  

Who You Are:  

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Technical degree or relevant technical training 
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite 
  • Prior experience working in a mechanical or electronic environment 
  • Experience with BCD/PCD and gas related equipment 
  • Experience with gas and/or chemical delivery systems in ultra-high purity operation 
  • Strong technical aptitude 
  • Excellent communication skills
