Your Role:

 

As a Patent Counsel in our team you will interact directly with our R&D, business, legal and patents teams providing counsel on IP matters seeing opportunities, risks and solutions to support the company’s business goals. You will apply your deep patent prosecution experience to work both independently and collaboratively in our dynamic and highly dedicated global team.

 

You will take ownership in patent portfolio management through drafting, filing, prosecuting and defending patents for our life science businesses. Your role includes counselling the business with clarity and preciseness on patentability, inventorship, freedom-to-operate and related patent matters. Using digital tools and processes is standard and expected part of your day-to-day work. A part of this role includes opportunities to work on agreements, licenses and due diligences.

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • WHO YOU ARE:

  • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • JD from an ABA accredited Law School and admitted in at least one jurisdiction, preferably Massachusetts
  • Registered Patent Attorney at the USPTO
  • 3-10 years of active patent prosecution experience in a law firm, additional in-house experience preferred
  • Experience in contract drafting preferred
  • Possess intercultural sensitivity and strong team spirit
  • Focused and self-reliant to prioritize and complete tasks, with outstanding attention to detail and ability to respond to changing needs of business
  • English proficiency required, fluency in other languages, particularly German or Chinese, advantageous but not required
