Your Role:

The Product Segment Head leads the Core Biochemicals team and product portfolio. The position sits within Research Solutions - Life Science Chemistry within the Biochemicals franchise. The purpose of this position is to lead a team of highly qualified scientists and businesspeople to deliver superior product portfolios for Biochemicals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead and shape a global product management team.
  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Business Development, other Product Management teams, Operations, Procurement, Pricing, Segment Marketing, and Commercial.
  • Analyze and assess markets with respect to industries, accounts, personas, customer needs, workflow gaps, competitors, and technologies.
  • Define direction and priority for new product development and launch plans.
  • Create and manage product ranges over the whole life cycle, including the delivery of on-time product launches of technology/innovation products and extension of product lines.
  • Assure optimal positioning in key markets. Develop and execute an effective go-to-market mix.
  • Act as a point of contact for product related questions from commercial, supply chain, legal and others and provides appropriate answers and solutions, in collaboration with all other internal functions.
  • Conduct regular analysis of portfolio pricing. Design and implement pricing strategies.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, or related scientific discipline
  • 4+ years of demonstrated expertise and knowledge in the Laboratory & Life Science market
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally, up to 20% of time

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.Sc., MBA, or PhD
  • 4+ years in product management, sales, marketing, and/or supply chain role within the Laboratory & Life Science market
  • 1+ years managing or leading a team
  • Demonstrated capability reading technology and market trends, and strategically planning future product opportunities
  • Experience working across organizational lines to translate opportunities into financial business plans
  • Ability to work with and engage across management team and various functions within the organization; willing to constructively contribute to and debate key issues affecting the organization across multiple areas
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to move others to a conclusion
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficiency in English
