Your Role:

You work in a laboratory supporting mainly early pharmaceutical research (in Healthcare) with various cell culture techniques. Main focus of your work will be on the advancement and implement of advanced cell culture systems (joint project between toxicology and DMPK); Initial focus will be on liver models relating to hepatotoxicity and drug disposition as well as improving our understanding of the interplay of targets and liver biology. You work closely with internal partners and in an international cross-sectoral project teams to support them with regards to the project needs and to support the lab on advanced liver cell culture models. For this purpose, you have experience in cell culture techniques and a good network within the academic arena. You will also represent our company within several ongoing externally funded collaborations. You will also work in direct collaboration with LifeScience colleagues - specifically in relation to the development of liver organoids. Additional scope will include advanced cell systems for other relevant tissues (e.g., intestine, brain and kidney), as well as supporting specific project related issues

Who you are:

  • Completed PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or related areas
  • Extensive experience with cell culture techniques (cell lines and primary cells), cultivation of cells and assay read-outs
  • Experience with liver models – both in relation to safety and DMPK testing an advantage
  • Basic understanding of pharmaceutical research
  • Collaborative, passionate and enthusiastic personality with ability to work in a cross-sectoral teams
  • Strong network within academia
  • Fluent spoken and written German or English
