Your Role:

 

As an Occupational Health Nurse at MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan Falls, WI, your role will include the following:

 

  • Provide on-site medical care including occupational injury and illness treatment, personal medical consultation, and coordination with local health service providers for further care as needed
  • Manages workplace injury management program including medical case management of assigned Workers’ Compensation claims, conducting medical records check of employees’ chart for supporting medical information, written summaries of applicable medical information to support claim plan development, following-up with employees, monitoring and documenting medical rehabilitation progress, maintaining contact with medical care providers, and communication with supervision, workers’ compensation coordinator, insurance coordinators and attorneys as needed
  • Manages all mandated medical monitoring and recordkeeping activities including conducting or coordinating required medical tests, verifying the receipt and completeness of lab results, communicating results to employees, and supporting operations as prescribed in standard procedures
  • Supports the Medical Emergency Response Team including responding to emergencies during working hours or by phone after hours, coordinating with county medical director, coordinating initial and periodic training, certification, and licensing, managing the first responder operational plan, and maintaining recordkeeping for medical emergency situations
  • Manage injury and illness recordkeeping, communicating work restrictions to supervision, maintaining accurate medical records of reported injuries and illnesses, maintaining confidential medical records of disabilities, and maintaining accurate and confidential employee health and medical charts
  • Coordinates employee return to work program for workplace injuries
  • Coordinate pre-employment physical and substance abuse screening program
  • Coordinate communications between MilliporeSigma and local health service providers
  • Manage DOT driver qualification program including the coordination of DOT physical exams, required DOT drug and alcohol testing, and periodically auditing the program for compliance and effectiveness
  • Manage first aid equipment and medical supplies throughout the site including the first aid examination room, remote first aid boxes, oxygen tank refilling/testing, and medication management
  • Provide general training as needed such as First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Provides and certifies required job-specific medical clearances such as respirator clearance and forklift vision testing
  • Coordinate’s health assessments for changes in employee health status impacting work ability or to meet regulatory or policy requirements
  • Provides intervention and counseling to employees experiencing personal or health issues that impact their ability to work.  Make referrals to company EAP and community resources
  • Coordinate’s immunization programs including flu shots or immunizations required for international travel
  • Coordinates COVID-19 testing, verifying the receipt and completeness of lab results, communicating results to employees and management for return to work
  • Coordinates for cause substance abuse testing
  • Provides health promotion information to all employees and participates in company wellness activities such as blood drives
  • Supports safety initiatives at the direction of local EHS leadership
  • Normal work hours are around 8:00 – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some occasional off shift hours to conduct medical monitoring, training activities, or employee consultations

 

 

Physical Attributes:

 

  • May involve lifting up to 50 pounds

 

Who You Are:

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • National Registry Licensed in any of the following: EMR, EMT, AEMR, or Paramedic.
  • 5+ years of experience in Occupational Health nursing

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and/or Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)
  • Spirometry Approved Screener 
  • ACLS Certified 
  • CPR Instructor 
  • FEMA Trained 
  • Proficiency with computers, to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Troubleshooting, organizational, and project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
