MilliporeSigma in Bedford, MA is hiring an Engineer I within the Filtration Research and Development department. The Engineer I will assist in the design, development, and testing of novel filtration products/technologies suitable for the manufacture of therapeutic biopharmaceuticals.
In this role you will contribute to technology and product development projects to deliver advanced filtration and solid/liquid separation technologies intended for a wide range of bioprocessing applications. You will apply solid scientific and engineering principles to (1) design and test prototype filtration products in a collaborative environment, (2) leverage personal and institutional knowledge to achieve project goals and timelines, (3) develop materials, devices, and methods that achieve cost and performance objectives and (4) summarize experimental results and conclusions to the project team through written reports and technical presentations.
You will also be expected to contribute to the product and manufacturing process validation of these products for use in a diverse range of applications within the biotechnology industry.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or other Applied Science or Engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis methods
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team including manufacturing, quality, and procurement functions through development and validation phases to support a successful product launch
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on data analysis and technical presentations
- Willingness to develop new skills and techniques; leverage internal training opportunities as appropriate
- Hands-on problem solver, comfortable with modern laboratory techniques and procedures
- Ability to comply with all necessary EHS safety regulations
- Willingness to seek feedback and respond appropriately to input from other R&D peer groups
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to deliver clear, concise technical presentations
