Your role:

At MilliporeSigma, the Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for facilities and equipment maintenance.  This includes repair and maintenance of HVAC, building services, exhaust systems, and a wide variety of laboratory equipment.  Following all safety and quality requirements, the incumbent will complete assigned work installing and maintaining equipment, facilities, and utility systems. 


Physical Attributes:

  • Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above the shoulder, stooping, kneeling, twisting, crouching or crawling for long periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds unassisted. 
  • Wearing eye protection, safety shoes, and protective gloves.  May be required to wear a hard hat, hearing protection, respirator and face shield, and other PPE.


Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/equivalent with 3+ years of maintenance experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade School or Associate degree in Science discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and leadership skills. 
  • Ability to solicit bids and supervise/direct contractors and other technicians in completing work.
  • Excellent organizational and 6S skills
  • Excellent self-motivation and productivity skills with the ability to accept direction and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to write, read, understand, and follow work instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to use basic PC software (Windows, Word, Excel, email).
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Able to perform work related travel as necessary, including weekend and holiday on-call and after-hours duty as needed.
