Your Role:

A Senior R&D Scientist is needed for execution of custom development projects and new product development for Cell Design Studio (CDS).  This is a customer-facing R&D group, with expertise in molecular biology, genome editing, mammalian genetics, and advanced cell biology and cell culture.  This role is responsible for designing and executing critical wet-lab activities in support of CDS projects. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced team environment and be able to work efficiently on challenging complex projects with aggressive timelines. This position is being created to support increased demand for custom cell line engineering.

  • generate and deliver accurate and comprehensive scientific reports
  • effectively communication with the supervisor, colleagues, management, and clients
  • perform hands-on laboratory work
  • generate and deliver written scientific reports (including statements of work; SOWs) on time
  • complete company SOP training
  • comply with company and governmental regulations and guidelines
  • perform accurate project-hour recording
  • develop and protect intellectual property
  • guide and structure the laboratory activities of junior scientists by sharing knowledge and experience


Who You Are:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a life sciences or scientific discipline is required
  • 3+ years of research experience (work or educational based) in multiple aspects of cell biology, mammalian (especially human) genetics, molecular biology, and tissue/cell culture


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to troubleshoot difficult experiments, lead and mentor junior colleagues, and work within a dynamic team environment
  • Advanced training in mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique is critical, along with a superior proficiency in standard and advanced molecular cell biology methods
  • Previous practical experience with pluripotent stem cells, genome editing and/or cellular models of disease is strongly desired.
