Your Role:

The Bellefonte, PA USA manufacturing site is a key production site within the rapidly growing MilliporeSigma, Life Science Division. As the Manager Controlling - Bellefonte Operations you are a key business partner responsible for actively working to ensure the site delivers on its financial targets.  As financial advisor and partner to site heads, this position will:

  • Provide financial information to facilitate decisions on a wide scope of operational and strategic matters
  • Monitor financial performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation
  • Manage all areas of financial responsibility, including but not limited to:
      • Financial Reporting and Forecasting
      • Operations Analysis
      • Resource Allocation
      • Capital Expenditure Planning
      • Controlling and Compliance 

 

You will also have a proactive partnership with key stakeholders to ensure optimized use of financial resources in alignment with strategy to maximize profitability and sustainability and support business partners by reviewing, analyzing and challenging assumptions for corporate submissions such as Operating Plan (OP) and Quarterly Forecasts (F1, F2, F3).
 

  • Manages all financial matters that support achievement of strategic and operational objectives including capital expenditure management
  • Manages financial planning process for local Operations and proactively supports the reporting and forecasting processes
  • Appropriately balances operations and business perspectives in developing forecasts, and provides transparency into business drivers, risks and opportunities. Uses a balanced approach under the pressure of managing multiple priorities as well as communicating a clear finance strategy to the team
  • Monitors business trends and provides relevant data, analyses, and fact-based recommendations to the Operations leadership team
  • Creates and documents improvement potential, guidelines and directives based on best practice and knowledge of internal / external business challenges
  • Prepares additional complex ad hoc analyses as required, presenting recommendations to senior management as appropriate
  • Provides the Controlling organization with all necessary information in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensures correct standard cost and productions cost for the manufacturing site on an annual basis and tracks and explains COGs variances monthly
  • Responsible for Budgeting, Reporting and Capex Controlling from a financial perspective, providing financial data to influence investment decisions
  • In charge of the management reporting process to provide a consolidated Operations view to the leadership team, with timely reports on business performance and related business insights.
  • Reports in a manner that meets Operations information needs / corporate standard, while meeting standards for process, timing and format
  • Supports Inventory reporting and improvements, driving consistency and harmonization across the businesses
  • Supports effective lateral communication and coordination across groups to improve efficiency and achieve desired results across the company’s matrixed organization
  • Collaborates on strategy development and regarding strategic projects
  • Manages all financial matters that support achievement of strategic and operational objectives including capital expenditure management
  • Monthly & quarterly reporting and analysis of financial results
  • Ensures Internal controls and compliance are enforced
  • Drivers the month-end close process including timely journal entries, review of obsolescence, general accruals and reconciliations

 
 

 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Working experience in Controlling, Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience. Biotech or Pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
  • You have a strong technical knowledge with the ability to learn new concepts rapidly.
  • You have advanced skills in data analysis with strong leadership skills and ability to address critical and challenging situations.
  • You are a proactive collaborator with the ability to see strategic gaps from the financial view, then recommend actions.
  • You also have knowledge of software including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), AS400 & SAP experience is a plus.
