Your Role:

  • Supervise a staff of approximately 20 union employees in various job functions including Group Leader, Chemical Operator, and Chemical Filler
  • Effectively manage production to meet production schedules in a safe and efficient manner
  • Work closely with Production Planning to assure that customer demands can be successfully achieved
  • Must be technically competent in Distillation processes with an ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise
  • Must be knowledgeable of chemical hazards and have a thorough knowledge of operating safely within an explosion proof environment
  • Must be knowledgeable of blending and downfilling processes and procedures
  • Must maintain proper batch directions and equipment operating procedures
  • Expected to function as department liaison on Engineering projects impacting production processes
  • Must assure that personnel follow all procedures and proper documentation practices
  • Expected to maximize productivity with an emphasis on quality control while minimizing costs
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with employees and other departments such as Production Planning, QC, and Maintenance

Essential Job Functions:

  • Knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes
  • Knowledge of chemical hazard classifications and safety requirements
  • Supervision experience of direct labor employees in a union environment
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, Excel, Access, Outlook, and ManGo
  • Knowledge of production equipment and pressure vessels
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Physical Attributes:

  • Ability to stand for long periods; ability to use a computer terminal; ability to climb stairs and ladders; ability to walk significant distances

Who You Are:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Has been a contributor in a team environment
  • Experience with manufacturing scheduling
  • Worked with cross functional teams
  • Experience working in a chemical production
  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering
  • Experience with Chemistry; Math; Laboratory Experience; Chemical Process Experience; Distillation Process
